SUMMARY:AMRRP Budgeting for Risk - Premiums and Other
DESCRIPTION:Our first training for 2023 is on budgeting for risk.  This is the time of year when members are preparing budgets.  The purpose of this training is to go over all the factors that go into budgeting for risk and to avoid the pitfalls that can result in budget shortages. \nMembers may attend this meeting by contacting the Meeting Organizer. \n Ed Bantel was last modified: February 10th\, 2020 by

SUMMARY:AMRRP Bola Wrap Program Update
DESCRIPTION:As you know\, AMRRP set aside funds to reimburse members 50% of the cost to purchase Bola Wraps.  Our intent was to make the offer available throughout 2022 to allow for departments to budget if need be.  Many AMRRP have made purchases.  While it was our intent to end the program this year\, our real intent is for any member that wants them to get them.  In a sense this is a “last call”.  However\, if you are still interested and this just fell off the radar or you need more time to budget\, I’d like to know as we prepare the AMRRP budget for next year. \nSince our first Webinar\, there has been a lot more data on the use.  Chief Terry Nichols\, Wrap Director will provide some interesting information\, share some videos and be available as a resource if you have any question or are on the fence about a purchase. \nAlso\, Terry asked me to share this NLERSP Flyer for a free class funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance designed for police executives for driving safety.  I know I get a lot of requests for driver training classes!! \nI hope you can join Terry and I for another look at the Bola Wrap program. \nNLERSP Executive Workshop \nBOLA Wrap Restraint Device Brochure \nAMRRP Members may contact the Event Organizer for Virtual Event meeting details.  \n Ed Bantel was last modified: February 10th\, 2020 by

SUMMARY:AMRRP Law Enforcement Survival: Mental Wellness Training – Cottonwood Location
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Susan Lewis Simmons & Tom Haubold \nAZ POST credit will be offered \nPrerequisite/Who Should Attend: Students must be full-time\, commissioned law enforcement and law enforcement spouses/significant others. \nCost:  Complimentary-Sponsored by ACIP and AMRRP \nCourse Description: Adopt a proactive approach to stress management through education\, training\, identification\, and discussion of common and unique stressors in the ever-changing field of Law Enforcement and the ways in which the individual\, the family\, the organization\, and the public are affected. In doing so\, there should be a reduction in the harmful side effects which include but are not limited to attrition\, unnecessary sick leave\, low morale\, substance abuse\, liability\, divorce\, suicide\, and other physical and financial manifestations which are debilitating to the individual\, the family\, and the organization. \nLaw Enforcement officers are tasked with job descriptions that often require them to be perceived as problem solvers by society. Their jobs are challenging yet rewarding and require them to deal with all the traumas our society has to offer. To become successful and survive they often develop a persona that allows them to deal with daily insults\, without taking them personally which can lead to low morale\, complacency and too often suicide. They shut down emotionally and distance themselves from their families to protect them from the things they see daily and the “garbage” they are exposed to. This can lead to sleep deprivation\, vitamin and mineral deficiencies\, adrenal fatigue\, all resulting in depression\, isolation\, anxiety\, physical illnesses\, emotional distress\, divorce\, and all too often suicide. The good news is that with proper training that takes into account the “whole” person\, we can mitigate many of these negative issues that not only impact the individual but the family and organization as well! \nTo RSVP\, please contact the event organizer. \n Ed Bantel was last modified: February 10th\, 2020 by

SUMMARY:AMRRP Under the Shield Meet and Greet with Susan Simons and Tom Thabolud
DESCRIPTION:This is our second webinar regarding the Under the Shield Program for ACIP and AMRRP members in case you have more questions or were unable to attend the last one. \nIn place of the 5 meet and greets we had planned\, we will be doing Regional Training and we will provide information on that as we get them scheduled.  Another reason we decided 5 meet and greets were not necessary is because the use of the program for the month of March exceeded all expectations\, so it does appear that information about the program is getting out. \nFor those of you not familiar with the Under the Shield Program\, it is a counseling service\, totally anonymous for police and fire\, to help them and their family deal with the unique stresses that come with the job.  This is totally separate from any EAP program or the PTSD coverage provided elsewhere.  The Under the Shield brochure gives a good overview of the program. \nThe good news is you don’t have to wait for a webinar to start using the program\, it is up and running now!  The secure line available only to ACIP and AMRRP members.  This line is so secure and this program is so autonomous that Tom and Susan won’t even see the number you are calling from! \nFor Members that did not receive the invitation\, please contact the Event Organizer below. \n Ed Bantel was last modified: February 10th\, 2020 by

SUMMARY:AMRRP Law Enforcement Assistance Program & Risk Management Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:Opioids and the Rise of Fentanyl – hosted by Robert DeVries\nBelow is a headline from a recent Wall Street Journal article: \nMore Americans are dying from drug overdoses than ever before\, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There were an estimated 100\,306 fatal overdoses over the 12 months through April 2021 — the most ever reported in a 12-month period and double the annual number of car accidents and firearm deaths combined. \nThis has serious implications for all AMRRP members in general as well as law enforcement and first responders in particular. \nPlease join us for our first AMRRP Roundtable of 2022!  We are most fortunate to have Robert DeVries as our speaker!  Robert recently retired as Police Chief of the City of Kingman\, and not only is Robert well versed on this topic\, he gives a great presentation! \nPlease join us for this important topic. \n\n Ed Bantel was last modified: February 10th\, 2020 by
