On April 28, 2025, the Industrial Commission of Arizona (ICA) honored organizations demonstrating a commitment to worker safety in honor of International Workers’ Memorial Day. AMRRP received the self-insured pool category award for claim experience below industry standards and administering programs efficiently without compromising benefits to injured workers. The City of San Luis was also honored with the Public Entity Protection Program (PEPP) award for small public employers!

AMRRP is very honored to receive its award, which could not have been achieved without some hard work and cooperation among the membership.  We think these are some the key reasons that AMRRP was singled out:

AMRRP pays for TriageNow for all members:

  • Employees report claims to TriageNow and get immediate medical advice;
  • First aid can be treated with the TriageNow nurse avoiding the need to file a WC claim;
  • Eliminates the popular misinformation that employees must see a doctor to file a WC claim;
  • Claims are immediately transmitted to Southwest Risk to begin working on the claim within minutes of the accident;
  • Employees that need medical assistance get referred to the doctor of the Member’s choice with TriageNow calling ahead to set up the appointment;
  • TriageNow enters the initial data into the OSHA Log.

The willingness of AMRRP members and employees to participate in the TriageNow program was essential to our success.  It took a minute, but almost all AMRRP members use the program today, as they realize how much paperwork this eliminates and how service is improved.

Last but certainly not least, kudos to the WC Claim Department.  The ability to get the claim within minutes has given our claim representatives the ability to shine and provide excellent service to injured workers.  Gone are the days of medical bills stacking up because claims have not come in!

This is a good example of the way AMRRP provides unique, meaningful programs to members.

Thank you,

Ed Bantel, Program Administrator
