In doing so\, there should be a reduction in the harmful side effects which include but are not limited to attrition\, unnecessary sick leave\, low morale\, substance abuse\, liability\, divorce\, suicide\, and other physical and financial manifestations which are debilitating to the individual\, the family\, and the organization. \nLaw Enforcement officers are tasked with job descriptions that often require them to be perceived as problem solvers by society. He recently retired as an Assistant Fire Chief and Attorney on the Command Staff at a Phoenix area Fire Department.  Mr. Robens is a Partner in the law firm of Jellison & Robens\, PLLC.  The Firm provides Police Department legal advice\, training\, and litigation services in the areas of law enforcement liability\, constitutional law\, and general governmental liability. The Firm routinely litigates cases in the federal courts handling a variety of constitutional cases in defense of governmental entities\, their agencies\, and departments. He frequently consults with and lectures nationally to public safety agencies\, conferences\, and conventions. DESCRIPTION:This is our second webinar regarding the Under the Shield Program for ACIP and AMRRP members in case you have more questions or were unable to attend the last one. \nIn place of the 5 meet and greets we had planned\, we will be doing Regional Training and we will provide information on that as we get them scheduled.  Another reason we decided 5 meet and greets were not necessary is because the use of the program for the month of March exceeded all expectations\, so it does appear that information about the program is getting out. \nFor those of you not familiar with the Under the Shield Program\, it is a counseling service\, totally anonymous for police and fire\, to help them and their family deal with the unique stresses that come with the job.  This is totally separate from any EAP program or the PTSD coverage provided elsewhere.  The Under the Shield brochure gives a good overview of the program. \nThe good news is you don’t have to wait for a webinar to start using the program\, it is up and running now!  The secure line available only to ACIP and AMRRP members.  This line is so secure and this program is so autonomous that Tom and Susan won’t even see the number you are calling from! \nFor Members that did not receive the invitation\, please contact the Event Organizer below.
