SUMMARY:AMRRP Bola Wrap Program Update
DESCRIPTION:As you know\, AMRRP set aside funds to reimburse members 50% of the cost to purchase Bola Wraps.  Our intent was to make the offer available throughout 2022 to allow for departments to budget if need be.  Many AMRRP have made purchases.  While it was our intent to end the program this year\, our real intent is for any member that wants them to get them.  In a sense this is a “last call”.  However\, if you are still interested and this just fell off the radar or you need more time to budget\, I’d like to know as we prepare the AMRRP budget for next year. \nSince our first Webinar\, there has been a lot more data on the use.  Chief Terry Nichols\, Wrap Director will provide some interesting information\, share some videos and be available as a resource if you have any question or are on the fence about a purchase. \nAlso\, Terry asked me to share this NLERSP Flyer for a free class funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance designed for police executives for driving safety.  I know I get a lot of requests for driver training classes!! \nI hope you can join Terry and I for another look at the Bola Wrap program. \nNLERSP Executive Workshop \nBOLA Wrap Restraint Device Brochure \nAMRRP Members may contact the Event Organizer for Virtual Event meeting details.

SUMMARY:AMRRP Law Enforcement Survival: Mental Wellness Training – Cottonwood Location
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Susan Lewis Simmons & Tom Haubold \nAZ POST credit will be offered \nPrerequisite/Who Should Attend: Students must be full-time\, commissioned law enforcement and law enforcement spouses/significant others. \nCost:  Complimentary-Sponsored by ACIP and AMRRP \nCourse Description: Adopt a proactive approach to stress management through education\, training\, identification\, and discussion of common and unique stressors in the ever-changing field of Law Enforcement and the ways in which the individual\, the family\, the organization\, and the public are affected. In doing so\, there should be a reduction in the harmful side effects which include but are not limited to attrition\, unnecessary sick leave\, low morale\, substance abuse\, liability\, divorce\, suicide\, and other physical and financial manifestations which are debilitating to the individual\, the family\, and the organization. \nLaw Enforcement officers are tasked with job descriptions that often require them to be perceived as problem solvers by society. Their jobs are challenging yet rewarding and require them to deal with all the traumas our society has to offer. To become successful and survive they often develop a persona that allows them to deal with daily insults\, without taking them personally which can lead to low morale\, complacency and too often suicide. They shut down emotionally and distance themselves from their families to protect them from the things they see daily and the “garbage” they are exposed to. This can lead to sleep deprivation\, vitamin and mineral deficiencies\, adrenal fatigue\, all resulting in depression\, isolation\, anxiety\, physical illnesses\, emotional distress\, divorce\, and all too often suicide. The good news is that with proper training that takes into account the “whole” person\, we can mitigate many of these negative issues that not only impact the individual but the family and organization as well! \nTo RSVP\, please contact the event organizer.

SUMMARY:AMRRP Law Enforcement Survival: Mental Wellness Training - Marana Location
