Scottsdale, Ariz. — For the second consecutive year, the Arizona Municipal Risk Retention Pool (AMRRP) was recognized by the Industrial Commission of Arizona (ICA) for excellence in workers’ compensation, earning the Self-Insured Pool of the Year award. The award highlights a sustained commitment to workplace safety, sound claims management, and the highest principles and ethical standards in the administration of self-insurance. In addition, AMRRP’s experience modification rates are below industry standard, underscoring its effectiveness in reducing workplace injuries and managing claims responsibly.
AMRRP attributes its strength to effective collaboration:
- Board leaders who recognize the value of risk management programs that support workers’ compensation member services
- Members who actively embrace the benefits of collective risk-sharing, working together to share best practices in risk management and workplace safety
- Partnerships with the League of AZ Cities and Towns, other pools, regulators, and vendor partners to improve Arizona’s workers’ compensation ecosystem
- Long-standing professional expertise, including claims, underwriting, and risk administration services provided by the Berkley Risk Scottsdale team
In addition to AMRRP’s recognition, one of its members, the City of Douglas, was awarded the Public Entity Protection Program Small Employer Workplace Safety Award. Douglas was acknowledged as a leader in implementing innovative, proactive safety practices and for fostering a safety culture throughout the organization.
As AMRRP looks ahead, its commitment to servicing members, collaboration, and integrity will remain central to its mission—ensuring continued success and safer workplaces throughout Arizona.
