LOSS CONTROL / RISK MANAGEMENT
A primary goal for AMRRP is to assist city leaders in safeguarding their communities.  Loss control services provided by the AMRRP helps Members identify and address hazardous conditions that can cause workplace injuries. Additionally, AMRRP assists Members in creating and implementing comprehensive early return-to-work programs.  The Loss Control/Risk Management team understands the needs of cities & towns such as underlying trends, patterns and interrelationships necessary to solve liability problems.

Loss prevention and control of losses are accomplished utilizing various techniques and programs, including:

  • Training-the-trainer in loss control
  • Review of claim frequency
  • Personnel Assistance Lifeline (PAL)
  • Land Use Assistance Lifeline (LUAL)
  • One-on-one and on-site training
  • Workshops and seminars
  • Municipal Loss Control Coordinators
  • Appraisal services
  • Assistance with OSHA complianceOSHA Form 300 V 2007 in Excel 2002 format.

    PAL - Personnel Assistance Lifeline
providing limited, cost-free access to legal advice on personnel issues.
    LUAL - Land Use Assistance Lifeline
providing limited, cost-free access to legal advice on land use issues.
    EEOC/ACRD - Equal Employment Opportunity Commission /Arizona Civil Rights Division
providing limited legal assistance in defense of EEOC/ACRD claims at the administrative level.
    Vocational Rehabilitation Assistance
reducing loss of earning capacity (LEC) exposures on workers’ compensation claims.
 
 
The Loss Control/Risk Management Consultants provide:
  • The identification of existing and/or potential liability and  property exposures.
  • On site visits to provide technical assistance and to discuss problem areas and specific concerns.
  • Reviews of established policy and procedure manuals.
  • Resource materials available for review and assistance, Including risk control guidelines, sample manuals and model policies and procedures for municipalities.
  • A video library available to Members that includes various subjects such as:

    • Automobile / transportation safety
    • Law enforcement training
    • Personnel
    • Confined space
    • Record keeping/documentation requirements
    • Various resources/safety information
